The Nurse Manager provides the leadership and the environment in which the team can develop and integrate their visions, ideas and passions about the practice of nursing.
The Nurse Manager will:
Serve as a high visibility leader, role model and professional mentor. Represents a positive image of the unit/practice area to the organization.
Oversight of a 31 bed Neuroscience Unit, inclusive of a 6 bed epilepsy monitoring unit, and 4 bed neuroscience intermediate care unit.
24/7 accountability to plan, organize and oversee daily clinical and administrative operations for 70 FTEs.
Creating and sustaining a healthy work environment through authentic leadership, effective communication/collaboration and decision making, appropriate staffing to meet the needs of patients/families and provide opportunities for development and advancement of staff.
Embedding evidence-based practice and research into daily practice.
Facilitate quality outcomes in patient care while aligning strategic and institutional goals.
Ensure successful recruitment and retention of a cohesive nursing team, maintaining high quality practice.
Promotes responsible, creative and efficient use of resources
Establishes and maintains relationships with departments within Neuroscience and others which provide support services to the clinical areas to insure the quality care deliver and optimal patient experiences.
Leading and participating in hospital, departmental and multidisciplinary programs, committees and special projects.
To qualify, you must have:
BSN and Registered Nurse in MA.
Master's degree required in administration/management
4-5 years of progressive leadership experience.
7-10 years of clinical experience in pediatrics, neuroscience preferred however not required.
Certification in Neuroscience Nursing (CNRN) preferred. Candidates without certification will be considered; and certification will be required within 2 years of hire.
Strong analytic skills to resolve highly complex problems requiring the application of clinical, scientific or technical principles, theories and concepts and in-depth cross-functional experienced-based knowledge. Effective communication skills and proficient computer skills required.
Five day work week.
