The Department of Neurological Surgery provides comprehensive patient care services, from diagnosis through treatment. In existence since 1919, the Department offers its services at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and St. Louis Children's Hospital, both nationally recognized for excellence. Both hospitals are the most technologically advanced in the region, offering patients the latest in diagnosis and treatment.
Position is responsible for developing and maintaining a clinical database for over 1,000 Pediatric neurosurgery patients.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop database and forms using University research systems.
Analysis of statistical data and maintaining thorough computer and paper records of research results.
Obtains and files routine follow-up data on designated patients.
Assists investigators in data collection of retrospective and prospective studies.
High school diploma plus 2 years of administrative or research experience, preferably in a medical environment; Associate’s degree or 2 years of college may substitute for experience.
Ability to use discretion dealing with confidential information, analytical abilities, capacity for detailed record keeping, ability to tabulate and analyze statistical data.
Familiarity with scientific and medical terminology.
