This is a full time career position. The Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator serves as a Clinical Research Coordinator for the ReCHARGE Study (Revisiting CHARGE- the Childhood Autism Risks from Genes and Environment Study), an investigation of environmental exposure and risk for autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders. Under supervision of the Project Manager, the Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator schedules and coordinates appointments, conducts telephone interviews with parents, collects questionnaires, and assists with blood draws and blood processing.REQUIRED-Experience working with children who have autism or other developmental disabilities.-Experience handling and processing human blood and other biological samples.-Experience using multiple relational databases.-Experience writing and editing procedure manuals and documenting study participant progress in the Subject Tracking System and/or a similar system. -Oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with study participants from diverse backgrounds, as well as clinicians and faculty investigators, and the ability to discuss sensitive topics with compassion and professionalism.-Knowledge of general medical terminology sufficient to obtain health histories covering a wide range of medical conditions.-Attention to detail in order to prevent and/or quickly identify errors in data collection or data entry procedures.-Experience reading and following standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to sample collection and processing and policies and regulations that pertain to the use of human subjects in research, particularly research involving vulnerable populations.-Organizational skills to use and manage multiple calendaring systems for scheduling and tracking15-20 new participants each month. -Organizational skills to manage and prioritize multiple tasks to meet study-specific goals.-Ability to sit at a computer for several hours each day to perform data entry, scheduling, and other tasks.
