The Insurance Pre Certification Specialist is primarily responsible for obtaining insurance verifications and referral authorizations. This position requires excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively in person and over the phone. Knowledge of all tasks performed in the front office area is necessary to provide optimum internal and external customer satisfaction. Additionally, knowledge of HMOs, PPOs, Commercial Payers, HSAs, Cobra, Medicaid, STAR plans, CSHCN, CHIP and hospital financial assistance programs is essential.
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years of billing and insurance experience is required
Minimum of 2 years of front office practice operations experience is required
Understanding of General Accounting Principles is required
