As part of this highly skilled group, you will be trained to provide blood component therapy and perform routine and specialized testing including analysis of body fluids for various diagnostic markers, spectrum of hematologic disorders, coagulopathies, and infectious disease diagnostic assays for bacteria, viruses, mycobacteria and fungi. This full-service, CLIA-approved, CAP-certified laboratory employs a variety of techniques including technologically advanced automated analyzers to accommodate high-volume workload and complex testing methodologies. Here is an opportunity to perform routine tests in one or more sections of the clinical laboratory, independently or with minimal supervision. Recognizing the clinical significance of each test, the professional we select will report results within established timeframes, and actively support our continuous quality improvement and customer service goals by modeling appropriate behavior and providing a workplace conducive to success. Responsibilities include:
Following clinical laboratory testing procedures and policies in the performance of routine and specialized tests.
Applying the scientific method in problem-solving and assisting in the evaluation of new methods and techniques.
Ensuring that quality control criteria are met and adhering to established laboratory policies in handling hazardous substances.
Recording documentation to comply with various agency and hospital regulations.
Instructing and training rotating residents, students, physicians and new members of the laboratory staff in laboratory testing procedures.
Bachelor's degree with an emphasis on chemical or biological sciences, OR an associate's degree in laboratory sciences or medical laboratory technology which consists of 60 semester hours including a minimum of either 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses or equivalent combination of science courses (such as chemistry, biology, medical laboratory technology).
Qualification to meet all regulatory requirements for moderate or high complexity testing as appropriate within assigned area.
