The primary role of the Ortho/Sports Medicine Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) is to work in the role of a physician extender.The role of the Athletic Trainer will be to increase the availability, visibility and patient volume for the Cook Children's Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Team. This will be accomplished by both working closely with the physician in clinic to provide care to our active patient population. Additionally, the role would include interfacing with the community (recreational sports, middle schools, high schools, and private select sports clubs) to bring more awareness and access to Cook Children's Sports Medicine.
BA or BS from accredited institution.
Minimum 2 years working as an ATC with children, adolescents and young adults.
Prefer experience working in a pediatric orthopedic clinic providing direct patient care.
Experience with EPIC or similar EMR preferred.
Good organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills Bi-lingual preferred.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification:
Current BLS certification
Certification by the BOC
CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) preferred
