Required Qualification (as evidenced by an attached resume):
MD or PhD degree or foreign equivalent degree in a relevant field. Three (3) years of research experience to include one (1) year of experience following attainment of a doctoral degree. Experience in MRI studies, research design and image data analysis. Hands-on experience on Bruker or Siemens scanners.
Experience in pulse sequence programming on Bruker or Siemens scanners. Experience in grant writing, or past/present recipient of grant award. Experience in leading projects and training students/postdocs.
Brief Description of Duties:
Stony Brook University is in need of a Research Scientist in the department of Radiology. The incumbent will develop, design and run research experiments and ensure that all research protocols follow the policies and procedures of Stony Brook University. The Research Scientist will be responsible for the operations of the lab. The successful incumbent must have e xcellent communication and scientific writing skills.
Plan and execute research experiments involving MRI.
Evaluate and interpret research data.
Write papers for publication and prepare/submit grant applications as PI and/or Co-I.
Train and/or supervise lab personnel and students in lab.
Develop IRB and/or IACUC submission packages as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
