The Clinical Research Coordinator oversees cardiology clinical trials by collaboration and assessment of patients' diagnosis and condition status for the Heart Institute, along with the patients' treatment team of physicians, nurses and physician extenders. The incumbent will assist in the precepting and orientation of new research staff.
The Coordinator analyzes study protocols to get a site budget and coordinates with the research administration to negotiate budgets with the sponsors. Monitors and maintains budget guidelines. The coordinator has responsibility for the coordination of clinical research records, assuring adherence to human subjects protection guidelines, assuring the protocol compliance and requirements, and acting as a liaison for the research participants, community partners, and key stakeholders.
The incumbent must be able to interact professionally with potential subjects and staff and have strong ethical standards. A bachelor's degree and experience with clinical research are required.
This position is located at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC in Lawrenceville. TB test and PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check will be required as a condition of employment.
Master's level degree preferred; bachelor's degree required. 3-5 years research experience is preferred. Extensive experience may substitute degree.
