The Manton Center for Orphan Disease Research is seeking a new full time clinical research assistant (RA) to join our multidisciplinary team of researchers and clinicians.
This Clinical Research Assistant will be responsible for:
Overseeing patient recruitment, enrollment, and sample collection for both the Gene Discovery Core and the Beggs Laboratory Congenital Myopathy Research Program
Working closely with other RAs, Genetic Counselors, physicians and researchers to identify rare genetic causes for pediatric conditions
Serving as a primary contact point for these studies, responsible for answering families' questions about the project and research process
Coordinating with referring clinicians and researchers and communicating study status and progress
Conducting data collection activities and preparing analytical reports
Performing other miscellaneous administrative duties as assigned or required
Participating in local and international collaborations and publications is likely
In order to qualify, you must have:
Excellent communication skills, a high degree of self-motivation, as well as strong interpersonal and problem solving skills
A Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study. Relatable clinical research experience is preferred
An interest in pursuing a career in health care or genetics is preferred, but not required
