Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Department of Psychiatry is acceptingapplications for the Mental Health Clinician II, School BasedClinic. In this role you will perform diagnostic assessment and therapeutictreatments under occasional guidance. You will also maintain contact withfamily and community agencies and makes referrals. Additionally, performsupervisory functions for staff/students and routinely offers support/coveragefor departmental needs.
This position followsthe School Year calendar (August-May) of each year and salary is based on yearsof experience. You will receive pay during the school year and will beplaced on leave of absence during the summer. During the summer, you willnot receive any payment--your salary will be paid over the 10-month schoolyear.
Additional job tasks/responsibilities include, but are not limited toproviding clinical services to patients; completing paperwork accurately and ina timely manner; maintaining productivity; and performing administrativefunctions in a competent and timely manner

The Vanderbilt School Based program has been active forapproximately 28 years, and currently employs 27 staff within 33 schoolsites. Our clinicians run independent mental health clinics withinelementary and middle schools in Davidson County to clients identified byschool personnel and covered by TennCare or Cover Kids (Medicaid) for servicesrendered. Our mental health clinicians provide individual and grouptherapy and additional psychopharmacology services are rendered by ourPsychiatry Fellows and Nurse Practitioners. Most school-basedclinicians are assigned to one school; however, at times some clinicians mayserve an additional school one to two days a week.
Masterâs Degree (Psych,Counseling, Social Work or related field)
Two years of experienceor the equivalent
Licensed ClinicalSocial Worker and/or Licensed Professional Counselor
