Nemours is seeking a Manager, Clinical Systems Administration to join our team in Jacksonville, Florida.
At Nemours, each Associate plays a vital role in supporting the delivery of world-class pediatric care to the children we serve. The team based at our home office in Jacksonville, Fla. provides essential administrative, financial and technical support to Nemours operations across all locations.
The Systems Admin Manager’s role is to oversee all aspects of the Systems Admin team for Nemours which includes managing and administering the enterprise’s server hardware, software and storage environment.
Responsibilities include the management of software such as Citrix, server virtualization software, Electronic Medical Record (EMR), Faxing software, Email, Sharepoint, and Active Directory. In addition, server operating systems such as Windows, Linux and AIX. This also includes the maintenance of the enterprise infrastructure such as server hardware, fax gateways, storage area network (SAN), backup infrastructure and network attached storage (NAS).
The manager will coordinate the System Admin team’s staff to insure proper support is available and will focus on day-to-day operations. This position will provide technical leadership in matters directly pertaining to servers, storage, decision making, problem solving, developing procedures, and conducting meetings.
Assist the Director of Systems Admin in designing short term and long term plans to ensure that the Systems Admin services meet existing and future business needs.
Lead projects by defining project requirements, evaluate hardware/software and make recommendations, estimate project tasks, and will provide industry knowledge in performing tasks associated with administration responsibilities.
Focus on reducing the impact the team has on causing delays in operations or increased financial expense, patient, or customer dissatisfaction.
Manages daily activities to achieve service level standards, values, protocols and work rules. Manage the work of staff and applies the operating policies and compliance for assigned areas.
Provide direct supervision over a technical team including directing staff, counseling staff, setting annual performance goals and conducting performance reviews.
Provide high-level input to system architecture changes and support to application teams with items such as patch management, installation, and support of the applications with their respective vendors.
Implement technologies and processes to insure the security, capacity, survivability, and availability of all Systems Admin equipment.
Research new products, services, and procedures relating to the Systems Admin environment and, weighed according to business needs, make recommendations accordingly. Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
Negotiate with vendors and contractors to secure and renew infrastructure-specific products and services.
Assist in budget preparation, procurement and expense management of all assigned areas while adhering to operating policies and compliance procedures.
Additional miscellaneous duties and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time by employee’s manager.
Provide advanced assistance to others in the department with software development enhancements.
Work with management to develop voice strategies to support the needs of the organization.
Accurately document instances of hardware failure, repair, installation, and removal.
Stay current on technological aspects of the position.
Provides on-call off hours support as needed.
