Summary: The Corporate Communications Specialist will reportto the Corporate Communications Manager. He or she is responsible forunderstanding the priorities, organizational initiatives, and the Promise ofCook Children's Health Care System. This individual will develop and executecommunications strategies and tactics targeted at internal stakeholders. Strongwriting skills and being comfortable with AP Style are critical to the role.The communicator should be accomplished at identifying compelling, targeted andstrategic and culture-related content, and developing and disseminating thecontent to internal audiences through a variety of communication channels. Thisrole works on projects with autonomy from concept to completion. He or she willidentify key individuals to interview, conduct interviews, write/producecontent, secure graphics and/or imagery (including photography and videography)to accompany the content, publish content on the appropriate channel, and trackanalytics and trends. This individual must have a strong background indeveloping original content, speech writing, and experience in internalcommunications, social media and executive communications.
Bachelor's degree in journalism, public relations,communications, business, marketing, advertising, non-profit management.
Five (5) years of experience in public relations, marketing,marketing communications, journalism, or advertising.
We are seeking a candidate who understands the fundamentalsof organizational communications. Relevant experience in healthcare,consulting, advertising/public relations agencies.
Ability to think strategically.
Training and experience in news writing/editing, speechwriting and internal organizational communications.
Strong ability to communicate effectively both in writingand orally.
Ability to analyze information, prioritize work and makedecisions.
Demonstrated creativity, enthusiasm, flexibility, ability tomeet deadlines and manage a variety of projects simultaneously.
Strong interpersonal skills and experience dealing withindividuals at all organizational levels.
Excellent knowledge of AP style.
Knowledge of HIPAA/PHI.
