The Social Worker LCSW provides direct Social Work services to patients and families coping with acute or chronic medical conditions. The Social Worker provides ongoing supportive counseling/clinical therapy aimed at maintaining the functional behavior of families. The Social Worker assesses families for needed assistance with resource procurement in order to support the family's effort in caring for their child in either the ambulatory or inpatient care setting. The Social Worker will focus on managing the behavioral health population who have been admitted to a medical floor. Experience in facility placement, collaborating with external facilities and the inpatient transfer processes is preferred. This is a true job share role and will work as a team to provide daily coverage for this population.
Masters degree from an accredited school of Social Work
Current Texas License for LCSW
Basis Life Support (BLS) Certification for Health Care Providers required within 30 days of employment and must be maintained per Medical Center Policy
Previous experience in a hospital setting and prior experience working with children and families is preferred
