This Quality Improvement Data Analyst will be responsible for:
Advising and collaborating with the department's Quality Improvement and Compliance Committee, providing data management and analysis for departmental improvement efforts.
Coordinating institutional and multi-site healthcare quality improvement programs.
Preparing written and graphic reports utilizing appropriate epidemiological techniques.
Participating in quality improvement teams and special projects on quality improvement initiatives.
Reviewing data, identifying trends, and communicating changes in trends. Sources of data include, but are not limited to the IT systems within the hospital, insurance claims data, and other external sources.
Working with other hospital departments to obtain data and ensure data integrity. Assisting in the design of study tools and reports as necessary.
To qualify, you must have:
Knowledge of theories, principles, and methods utilized in the development health quality databases and analysis of health quality data typically acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in health policy/management or a closely related discipline, including coursework in biostatistics and data management.
One (1) plus years of related experience in a health care-related setting or a related advanced degree is preferred.
Strong analytic skills, knowledge of MicroStrategy, SAS, SPSS or other computer skills highly desirable.
Thorough knowledge of databases and computer software, including Excel, Access for database functions.
Excellent communication skills in order to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and mediate fair solutions or well-developed writing skills.
Experience with data collection from multi-sourced databases, data cleaning, database management analytics, and report formatting and written presentation of analysis.
