The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA), located in Seattle, Washington, is part of a dynamic collaboration among three organizations known nationally and internationally for their patient care and research: Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, University of Washington, and Seattle Children's. Over the past 25 years, these institutions have worked together to support their mission of adult and pediatric oncology patient care services, research and education.
The main function of the Financial Systems Group is to manage the functional administration of our financial systems and be the liaison between IT and Financial Operations to include data analysis, documenting business requirements, system troubleshooting, audit support, project implementation support, conducting file uploads, query and reporting development, and training. The FSG team is comprised of 4 individuals: Financial Systems Manager, Sr Business Analyst, and two Business Analyst III.
Provide leadership and management to the business analyst team
Establish structure that positions the team for success including hiring and career development to support long-term strategy
Manage finance and accounting systems, including PeopleSoft, BlackLine, and other tools as identified and implemented
Create tools within the systems, such as dashboards and customized reporting, to optimize the financial analysis functions of the systems
Provide support, guidance, and training to data users throughout the SCCA
Ensure consistent financial technology practices throughout the SCCA to maintain the integrity of the systems and data
Continually informdecision-makers regarding goals, drivers, and trends related to the finance function
Works within the Finance Department to identify enhancement and automation opportunities, process improvements, and additional internal controls
Build strong partnerships and collaborations with key leaders in Information Technology, Finance, Accounting, and other areas
Lead selection, contract negotiation and management phases for both project specific and ongoing technology service providers
Develop Epic Revenue and AR (Cognos and BOE) report specifications, supervise testing and research transaction abnormalities
Lead Epic audit activities to include developing schedules, reconciliations and coordination with process owners and related documentation/justifications
Troubleshoot PeopleSoft systems to ensure accurate transactions
Lead financial systems patches, updates and implementation efforts to include testing, procedural documentation and data mapping/migration
Stays current with technology solutions and tools to generate strategic and operational efficiencies while maintaining sound internal controls
Manage PeopleSoft file uploads to include Payroll, Epic and budget transactions
Develop system process, procedure, testing and training materials
Bachelors degree in accounting or finance
Five years of experience in accounting or finance
Experience managing financial systems
Strong knowledge of accounting processes and internal controls
Understanding of principles under Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Proficient with MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
Proven analysis and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Collaborative and customer service attitude with professional skills to work cross-functionally within the SCCA, as well as with Fred Hutch, the UW, and Seattle Childrens
Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills with ability to complete multiple tasks within defined time frames
Proficient with PeopleSoft Financials version 9.2
3-5 years of business requirements development and documentation to include system testing and implementation
3-5 years of experience in Healthcare accounting
8 to 10 years working in finance or accounting roles with expertise in strategic analysis.
Proficient with Cognos and BOE
2 years previous management or leadership experience

Seattle Cancer Care Alliance is a cancer treatment center that unites doctors from Fred Hutchison Cancer Research Center, University of Washington Medical Center, and Seattle Children’s. The purpose of this organization is to provide state-of the-art patient and family centered care; support the conduct of cancer clinical research and education; enhance access to improved cancer interventions; and advance the standard of cancer care regionally and beyond. The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance is the only NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center in the Northwest, and according to the National Cancer Data Base, Seattle Cancer Care Alliance patients in general have better survival rates than patients treated at other cancer treatment centers.
