As New Mexico’s only academic health center, we are dedicated to improving the delivery of care through applications of new technology and advancing the science of imaging through continued research. Based at the UNM Health Sciences Center in Albuquerque, the Department of Radiology is responsible for providing excellent patient care to the people of New Mexico and the Southwest.
As such, the academic radiology department is seeking applicants for a full-time Pediatric Radiologist. This is a faculty position that reports to the Department Chair.
The new Pediatric Radiologist will become a member of the Pediatric Radiology section and will provide primary diagnostic and consultative service in Pediatric Imaging for exams performed at multiple locations. All faculty are responsible for teaching and overseeing diagnostic radiology residents, fellows, and medical students. All faculty contribute to resident didactic education and are encouraged to engage in clinical research or other scholarly activities.

Successful candidates must be committed to working with broadly diverse student and community populations. The candidate must beABR-board certified or board eligible and have completed a Pediatric Radiology fellowship or have equivalent pediatric experience by the starting date of their appointment. Candidates who have a willingness and experience in another related area of specialty (i.e. Abdominal Imaging, Cardiothoracic, Neuroradiology, Emergency Radiology, Ultrasound, etc.) would be beneficial. Optimal candidates will have scholarly experience and interest.
The Department of Radiology provides services for the UNM Hospital, a 580-bed Level 1 Trauma and Tertiary Care Center including UNM Children's Hospital; the UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center; the 71-bed Sandoval Regional Medical Center; and the 320-bed Veteran's Affairs Medical Center.
The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center is located in the heart of the Rio Grande Valley with stunning natural beauty. There are 300+ days of sunshine per year in Albuquerque and an ideal environment for outdoor activities.

Pediatric Radiologist Qualifications:
MD or equivalent
Eligible to work in the U.S.
American Board of Radiology (ABR) Board certified or Board eligible in Diagnostic Radiology by contract start date
State of New Mexico Medical License (or eligibility) by contract start date
Completed Fellowship in Pediatric Radiology or equivalent Pediatric Radiology experience by contract start date
