The Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) of the University of Southern California (USC) and Childrenâs Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine are actively seeking a full-time faculty member in the Division of Laboratory Medicine with clinical service, research, administration and teaching responsibilities. This position is at the Associate /Full Professor level; salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience and scholarly accomplishments.
Applicants must have an MD, MD/PhD, or DO degree, have a CA medical license upon hire and have demonstrated excellence in applied laboratory science, translational research and education.Â American Board of Pathology certification in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology is required. Hematology (Hematopathology) certification/eligibility is strongly preferred.Â At least five years of experience in hematopathology, preferably pediatric, including flow cytometric-based minimal residual disease analysis is required.Â Special consideration will be given to candidates with previous leadership experience. Â CHLAâs Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicineâs Clinical Laboratories provide a full range of diagnostic testing and consultation services, including: clinical chemistry; biochemical genetics and special chemistry; point-of-care testing; hematology/coagulation; clinical microbiology and virology; HLA, immunology, flow cytometry and a full-service transfusion medicine program, including donor center, blood bank and therapeutic apheresis service.Â Excellent opportunities for collaborative research exist in conjunction with the Divisions of Anatomic Pathology, Laboratory Medicine, and Genomic Medicine, as well as other CHLA Departments. CHLA is home to the largest pediatric hematology, oncology, and blood and marrow transplant program in the western United States.
