The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Baylor Scott & White Health Temple, Texas, is seeking a High Complexity Lab Director and Reproductive Scientist to serve as the Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) Laboratory Director and oversee department wide research activities. The ideal candidate will be an experienced, active clinician-scientist with strong leadership qualities, communication and team building skills. This individual will have proven clinical skills, an outstanding teaching credentials and mentoring experience as well as an established track record of research publication. The candidate's accomplishments must be suitable to occupy the Noble Endowed Chair in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
The department currently holds multiple endowed chairs and is staffed by 33 clinicians and 7 advance practice providers including OBGYN specialist, Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery, Gynecologic Oncology, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology, and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. The department has an accredited graduate medical education program with 16 OBGYN residents and a Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship program. The REI division is composed of three board certified REI, a general OBGYN specialist, and a PhD embryologist with embryology/andrology technicians and support staff. The embryology laboratory currently process 300 cases per year and offers the full range of assisted reproductive technologies. The Andrology section performs 1500 semen analysis and preparations a year while serving the REI division and an active Urology department with a fellowship trained male fertility specialist.
The Director of the Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Laboratory will provide leadership, oversight, and direction to the faculty, staff, and trainees in laboratory, education and research. The Director is expected to have an emphasis on clinical and/or basic research and work in a highly collaborative manner with all clinical, educational and research investigators. Working with the OB/GYN Department Chair and REI Division Director, the Lab Director will focus on improving, developing, and implementing quality monitoring of clinical services as an active team member to the REI team and Department. The Laboratory Director will have fiscal and budgetary responsibility for the area and plan with the Department Chair and executive committee annually to determine quality, productivity, expense and margin targets. This position will have a high degree of autonomy as well as ample collaborative opportunities.
