The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA), located in Seattle, Washington, is part of a dynamic collaboration among three organizations known nationally and internationally for their patient care and research: Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, University of Washington, and Seattle Children's. Over the past 25 years, these institutions have worked together to support their mission of adult and pediatric oncology patient care services, research and education.
The Service Line Manager (SLM) is responsible for overseeing program development and integration across multiple sites of practice (SCCA, UW Medical Center, and SCCA community sites including at Northwest Hospital, EvergreenHealth, Issaquah, Peninsula) and all disciplines / programs in the Supportive Care portfolio.
The SLM will assist in integrating the research and training missions of the SCCA more fully into Supportive Care (SC) division operations and business planning. The SLM will partner with medical and administrative leadership and peer service line managers to drive alignment and refine a vision, approach, and recommended roadmap for a high-risk prevention. This is anticipated to include data development, forecasting, investment planning, and care model design.
The SLM will lead the development of the SC program strategic plan, in concert with operational and medical leadership, across all Performance Commitment dimensions (e.g. highest quality care, financial stewardship, research, growth, access, and people). The SLM leads collaborations with key supportive care services stakeholders to ensure patients receive the most effective, efficient, safest, and highest value service across the continuum of supportive care. This position develops and maintains knowledge of critical events that could impact scientific, regulatory, and other oncology practice changes in the industry.
Strategic Leadership: Lead the development and execution of strategic planning for the Supportive Care program while ensuring the plan supports the overall mission and priorities of SCCA as a whole.
Knowledge of Program / Service Line Capability: Gain deep understanding of the current state and capability of the program as well as those of local, regional and national competitors.
Value Stream Knowledge: Gain deep understanding of practice standards, resource needs, and productivity output for the program
Ensure Competitive Edge: Identify critical gaps or new innovative offerings to assure that the care and services offered, position both the program and the organization as a whole for success.
Communication: Responsible for communicating clearly and regularly with SCCA and UW Medical Center Administration and program Physician Leaders keeping them well apprised of project status and decisions.
Analytic & Data: Analyze, interpret, display, and communicate performance metrics to administrative and clinician leaders particularly in the areas of growth, access, operational activity volumes, and research clinical trials enrollments.
Highest Value Services: Identify and recommend improvements to patient services, hand offs, and flow for the purposes of achieving the highest possible value (high quality, low cost) to the patient and third-party payers.
Referral Management: Implements and monitors the key components of the referral process and referring provider relationships.
Outreach Management: Liaisons with community, regional and national networks, including professional societies and governmental representation on local, state and national levels, and vigilance for health care reform activities.
Two years of relevant experience in health care setting
Basic understanding of budgets and work unit operations
Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint High level of proficiency
Ability to synthesize a large amount of information and anticipate needs, draw accurate conclusions

Understanding of data visualization, analytic capacity in Tableau

The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance is the only NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center in the Northwest, and according to the National Cancer Data Base, Seattle Cancer Care Alliance patients in general have better survival rates than patients treated at other cancer treatment centers.
