Facilitates specialized transport of critically ill and injured children in a safe and expeditious process in order to achieve optimal clinical outcomes. Actively involved as a member of the transport team. Teamwork: Communicates effectively with team members. Responsible for the daily operations of the team. Ensures the team is used efficiently and assists with transport triage in conjunction with the medical control officer (MCO) and/or the medical director. Quality/Best Practice: Directs the education of personnel and assists with fiscal responsibilities by coordinator budget, staffing and scheduling. Utilizes evidence based standards and guidelines to establish quality improvement activities and the development of treatment protocols/pathways and collection of transport team data. Professional Development: Serves as a resource, preceptor and mentor to team members. Assumes responsibility in maintaining advanced pediatric assessment skills in delivery of care for this specialized group of patients. Leadership skills demonstrated in decision making and problem solving.
