The University Of Washington School Of Dentistry, Department of Pediatric Dentistry is committed to building a preeminent pediatric dentistry learning program. We invite applicants to apply for a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor Dental Pathway position. The dental pathway track is not tenure eligible. The initial appointment for this rank consists of two 3-year terms subject to review for reappointment to a second term. The person holding this position is to be engaged primarily in teaching and clinical care; scholarship may be more broadly defined compared to tenure and research tracks. Responsibilities include the directorship of the predoctoral program, clinical and didactic teaching at predoctoral and postdoctoral levels, participating in resident and student research projects, continuing education, and clinical practice including sedation and general anesthesia. Salary will be commensurate with the qualifications of the selected applicant. We are particularly interested in applicants with a diverse background and range of experiences.

The members of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry share responsibilities, exercise participative leadership, and operate by consensus. Qualifications include DDS/DMD or foreign equivalent, completion of a CODA-accredited advanced education program in pediatric dentistry, current standing as a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and the ability to practice dentistry in the State of Washington.
The candidate must be eligible to obtain a State of Washington permit to administer moderate sedation or moderate sedation with parenteral agents. The candidate is expected to obtain this permit subsequent to employment. The anticipated start date: May 2020.
