The Cardiac Catheterization Lab Nurse Coordinator's primary duty is to manage the care and treatment of patients undergoing cardiac catheterization diagnostic and interventional procedures. The nurse acts as a liaison between the patient, family, physicians, catheterization staff and Heart Center program. The nurse schedules procedures, provides admission and discharge instructions and counsels patients and families throughout the process.
Current license to practice professional nursing in the state of Texas.
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
If applicant has an ADN must be enrolled in BSN program within one year of accepting position and must complete BSN within 3 years.
2 Years relevant specialty experience required (knowledge of congenital heart disease preferred).
Demonstrated skill in patient care, communication, and interpersonal relationships.
Skilled in patient education.
Physical and mental skills to carry out job responsibilities.
