The Michigan State University College of Human Medicine Department of Pediatrics and Human Development is a pediatric primary care department dedicated to providing excellent patient care and medical education. Our faculty are engaged in a wide range of clinical, educational, and research activities, focused on improving the lives of the children and families we serve.
The successful candidate will serve as Director of the Michigan State University Center for Bleeding and Clotting Disorders (CBCD), and will devote 65% of their time to CBCD activities (including patient care, research, and administration), 30% time to pediatric hematology/oncology patient care, and 5% to undergraduate medical education. As Director of CBCD, the successful candidate will take responsibility for supervising both pediatric and adult bleeding disorders at CBCD clinics and MSU Women and Girls Bleeding Disorders clinics (both onsite and outreach), management of ATHN/CDC/MCHB grants, oversight of 340B programs, conducting clinical trials, working with IRB and MSU Contracts and Grants, and supervision of associated research staff.
As faculty with the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, the successful candidate will actively participate in inpatient pediatric hematology/oncology service (including weekend and holiday on-call), predominantly serving bleeding and clotting patients.
Only candidates with an MD or DO and one (1) to three (3) years' clinical experience treating bleeding and clotting disorders at a Hemophilia Treatment Center will be considered. Applicants must hold certification in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology (or be eligible for certification) from the American Board of Pediatrics. Applicants must be eligible for licensure as a physician in the State of Michigan, and must be eligible for medical staff privileges at participating institutions.
Experience working with national and international bleeding and clotting organizations is desirable. Candidates showing records of excellent clinical research, interpersonal skills, clinic management experience, and interest in medical education are preferred.
