The General Surgery Ambulatory Clinic, in our Boston location, is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Advanced Practice Nurse (APRN) to join our collaborative healthcare team for an opportunity as a full-time NP/Clinical Coordinator. Our Boston clinic currently includes 22 General Surgeons, nurse practitioners, clinical assistants, and administrative associates. Our clinic goal is to provide comprehensive, family-centered care to pediatric patients of all ages with simple through complex medical and surgical needs.
The APRN/Clinical Coordinator will:
Plan, organize and oversee daily clinical and administrative operations of the General Surgery Ambulatory Clinic in Boston and satellites. Works closely with the physician Chief of Surgery, Executive Administrative Director, Nursing Director and others. Role includes clinical and administrative responsibilities.
Participate in clinic sessions to perform comprehensive health histories, physical exams, diagnostic testing, and formulate and implement individualized treatment plans.
Participate in General Surgery initiatives/goals and work closely with the interdisciplinary leadership team and others ensuring alignment with General Surgery and Boston Children's Hospital strategic goals.
Function within the APRN scope of practice.
Manage independently patients' plan of care and disease state, and evaluate outcomes.
Build and promote collaborative relationships internally and externally for optimal patient care across the continuum utilizing all resources.
Engage in open communication/collaboration with all team members and disseminates information from the Clinical Operations Meeting.
Hire, manage and conduct performance evaluations for direct reports. Address Human Resources issues.
Provide professional development of staff.
Lead and participate in hospital, departmental and multidisciplinary programs, committees and special projects.
Oversee regulatory requirements with staff members.
To qualify, you must have:
MSN in nursing, graduate of a certified NP program (Pediatric and/or Family certification), and authorization to practice as NP in Massachusetts.
Greater than five years of clinical/APRN experience.
1+ years of management/leadership experience.
Analytical skills to resolve highly complex problems requiring the application of clinical, scientific or technical principles, theories and concepts and in-depth, cross-functional, experience-based knowledge.
Effective communication collaboration and advanced computer skills/technology.
