Partnering with the Director, Center for Professionalism and Provider Well-being (CPPW) and System Professionalism and Provider Experience Officer, the program manager is responsible for administrative, operational and financial aspects of the CPPW initiatives.
Works closely with the Director of the CPPW and with system leadership, Institute leaders, GSS leaders, operations staff, and administrative fellows, as well as leaders of other departments throughout the System to effectively accomplish the division/department/Institute professionalism and support goals.
Coordinates the strategic planning, development, and implementation of initiatives/projects. Oversees the expansion of initiatives and/or infrastructure as needed. Responsible for assuring coordination of all projects. Accountable for enhancing the quality and efficiency of implementing projects.
Responsible for financial management, quality and productivity goals, tracking deliverables, helping to ensure project timelines are met, and maximizing operational efficiencies and staffing for the Center.
The program manager of the CPPW reports to the Director of the CPPW and System Professionalism and Provider Experience Officer.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administration: • Assist in development and coordination of strategic plan and support its implementation. • Create and manage infrastructure necessary to projects/programs. • Oversee the overall operation and expansion of programs as needed. • Supervise staff, direct day-to-day work on projects, and develop standards of performance. • Manage workforce capacity and plans for growth and development. • Communicate resource and staffing needs and project status and milestones to leadership. • Handle sensitive project issues and provide resolution.
Financial/Budget: • Determine departmental needs and financial resources and assist with the preparation of annual budgets. • Oversee feasibility analysis and budget development for both internally and externally funded projects. • Maintain financial forecasting of expenditures, anticipate variances and independently implement corrective measures relevant to the project support staff function.
Communication and Leadership: Serve as integral part of leadership team representing the Center across the system and with outside entities. • Act as a liaison between project support staff and internal and external stakeholders. • Manage/Oversee communication strategy for the Center. • Mentor, develop and manage training of Center staff. • Develop standards for efficient implementation and management of program protocols/processes/pilots. • Participate in the development of program specific material (e.g., tracking logs, templates, monitoring tools, presentations, process manuals).
Across the Geisinger Health System • Support Geisinger mission and strategic plan by developing and maintaining the Center operations. • Assure the needs of Geisinger Health System professionals are met by programs and services. • Collaborate with clinical groups, departments and Institutes across Geisinger through informal matrix relationships.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s in business, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related healthcare field required. Masters preferred Minimum of two years of healthcare management experience required. Experience in an integrated health system preferred.
