BH Therapist I Inova Health Systems is currently searching for a Behavioral Health Therapist I to provide services to adolescents within the Kellar Center. With two locations serving the northern VA area, Inova Kellar Center has provided behavioral health services for children, adolescents and their families for more than twenty-five years. Our comprehensive mental health and substance use disorder treatment programs and an innovative special education school support families throughout Northern Virginia and continue to expand to meet future needs. The Center was founded in 1991 in partnership with Inova and visionaries Art and Betty Kellar, who had a strong commitment to serve children and families in the multicultural Northern Virginia region. Inova Kellar Center provides a full continuum of outpatient services and programs, including individual, family and group therapy, medication management, psychiatric evaluations, psychological testing, intensive outpatient programs, intensive home base services and partial hospitalization programs. This position will work to support our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP); our Loudon facility operates 9AM- 3PM with our Fairfax facility operating from 8AM - 2PM.
What will you do?
Provide a range of therapeutic services, psycho-educational programming and behavioral interventions to assist the client in achieving progress towards the goals and objectives of the individualized service plan. Provides case management to include documentation of progress and performs administrative functions appropriate to clinical role.
Assesses, collects, analyzes, and interprets data to determine treatment recommendations.
Provides appropriate treatment recommendations and strategies in the provision of mental health and substance use disorder
Orients patient and family members to program, rules and schedules. Measured by patient compliance with program policies and group norms and response on patient satisfaction surveys.
Facilitates and processes group interaction while setting and enforcing group boundaries, as evaluated by peer or supervisor observation and by patient feedback.
Teach patients to practice effective life coping skills, promotes experiential problem solving and reinforces learning and change through role modeling and counseling
Adheres to Inova's Culture of Safety and participates in maintaining a professional culture in Inova Behavioral Health
