The Clinical Research Manager provides leadership, tactical management, and administration for the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Cardiology research team, in collaboration with physician investigators.
Duties for this position include:
Overseeing and participating in the conduct of multicenter clinical trials, the protection of human subjects, and the use of information technology systems
Supporting physicians in effectively and efficiently coordinating and streamlining all research-related processes
Designing and implementing training programs to assure ethical, regulatory, and protocol compliance by research staff and efficient use of database technology, e.g., electronic case report forms and remote data entry
Serving as the key operational interface between the community practice, industry or federal funding agency, and the research team
Developing, supervising, and implementing clinical research protocols
Master's degree required with at least 2 years of experience in coordinating clinical trials or a Bachelor's degree with 6 years of experience in coordinating clinical trials is necessary. Equivalent relevant work experience may be substituted for degree requirement. Current licensure to practice nursing in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and current certification as a Clinical Research Coordinator also required. Flexible hours (day light, some evenings, and weekends) may be necessary. The CRM may be required to travel to facilities in Oakland, patient homes, or satellites of the hospital for the purpose of conducting research visits. Strong communication skills are necessary.
