The Division of Pediatric Critical Care, Department of Pediatrics at The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a Pediatric Intensivist to provide care at Children's of Alabama. The rank of this faculty position is at the level of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor on the Academic or Clinician Track depending on qualifications.
The Critical Care Division is currently comprised of nine faculty members who staff a 24 bed Medical/Surgical ICU, Critical Care Transport Team, Pediatric Simon Sedation Service, the Pediatric Simulation Center at Children's of Alabama, and supports an ACGME-approved fellowship training program. The preferred candidate will demonstrate a track record of excellence in clinical care, graduate medical education or research and possess outstanding leadership skills. Demonstrated accomplishment in the field of PICU leadership and/or research is highly desirable.
Children's of Alabama (COA) serves as Alabama's main tertiary care center for children. COA is the third largest children's hospital medical campus in the U.S. It is home to the state’s only Level I pediatric trauma center, the only pediatric renal care center, the largest pediatric burn center in the Southeast and is one of the largest pediatric outpatient centers in the nation.
