The PACU Registered Professional Nurse providespost-anesthesia care for patients following a wide variety of procedures. The RN is also responsible for delivery of patient care (direct and indirect) through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Directs and guides patient teaching, activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing.
Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing
At least 2 years medical/surgical or critical care nursing
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania of PA Registered Nurse license
BLS certification- American Heart Association
Successful completion of Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and continuous recertification every two (2) years
Successful completion of dysrhythmia course within six (6) months of hire
Successful completion of Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within six (6) months of hire and continuous recertification is required
Certification of Peri-Anesthesia (CPAN) nursing preferred
