Child Life Specialist – Pediatrics – Full Time – Evening/Night (12p-12a)
The Pediatric Child Life Specialist serves as a patient advocate, provides counseling, crisis intervention, psychosocial, and developmental based assessments for Pediatric patients and their families.
Document intervention, assessment in patients’ medical record following departmental standards
Oversee and participate in support programs for the Pediatric Emergency/ In-patient Units
Collect data and statistics for data collection and grant fund funding
Assist in mentoring new professional staff and student interns
Conduct educational sessions and /or provide educational materials for other health care professionals and students on the developmental and psychosocial needs of children and families and the role of the Child Life
Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, Human Resources, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Child Life or related field
Certification as a child life specialist (CCLS) or eligible to obtain as a new graduate; must be maintained for the position.
