The Manager of Child and Family Life Services is responsible for the creating a welcoming, stress reducing environment and the delivery of high quality, comprehensive supportive services to children and families at OHSU and Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. Through direct clinical supervision, program administration and leadership this position manages specially trained staff to provide care and support designed to meet the unique needs of children and families as they cope with illness, injury, treatment, hospitalization and the overall healthcare experience. Will create implement and evaluate the Child & Family Life program.
Masters in Child Life, Child Development, Recreation Therapy or health related field.
3 years leadership and/or supervisor experience
3 years of progressively responsible experience in a related pediatric health care field and setting required.
Thorough understanding and awareness of hospitalized/ ill children's developmental processes.
Ability to make independent decisions, analyze situations, solve complex problems. Proficient in software applications.
Child Life Certification required.
Primarily indoor office environment; requires work hours beyond standard office hours as needed and occasional local or national travel.
Ability to sit for long periods of time in an office environment or meeting setting; ability to be move about between meetings and across campus; and ability to lift and carry 20 pounds.
