Trained under the Medical model curriculum, the Physician Assistant functions in collaborative independent practice with physician(s) in the hospital setting. Autonomously performs patient assessment, diagnosis, and intervention according to approved protocols. Develops and maintains own volume of patients. Provides practice/clinic coverage for physician(s) during periods of absence. Prescribes a variety of modalities to meet wellness and illness needs, up to and including hospital admission/discharge, and prescriptive authority. Graduate of an approved accredited Physician Assistant program; Masters of Science as a Physician Assistant required. Current licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant. 2 years experience for urgent care,primary office or hospital setting preferred. American Heart Association BLS and PALS required.
