The Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) will screen and enroll subjects for protocols in the clinical settings of the division of Hematology/Oncology. The individual will assist the investigating physician(s)/Principal Investigator(s) (PI) with the preparation of regulatory documents, planning, subject recruitment, enrollment, scheduling, and study conduct.
The CRC will train and mentor health care personnel on protocols and ensure correct protocol adherence under the direction of the PI. This includes both individual institutional studies and multi-institutional consortium-sponsored trials, including several national organizations such as the Oncology group, Pediatric Brain Tumor Consortium (PBTC), center for international blood and marrow transplant research (CIBMTR) etc.
Strong communication skills are necessary. A Bachelor's degree in research, health care, or an administrative focus is required. One to two years of experience in clinical research is required. Equivalent relevant work experience may be substituted for degree requirement. This position is located at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh in Lawrenceville.
