The Department of General Academic Pediatrics (GAP) is seeking a Research Parent - Child Interventionist to work for a parent intervention program. This program is designed to improve child development outcomes in at-risk populations and is being administered in the context of randomized controlled trial in the Primary Care Center and the Department of Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh.
The Parent-Child Interventionist will administer a relationship-based intervention with parents and their children (birth-age 1) that takes place in the pediatric clinic, is offered for free to low-income parents, and is being studied as part of a research program. Bachelor's degree in child development, psychology, child life, infancy, special education, or related field is required. Two to three years of previous experience working with children and families in educational, research, hospital, or mental health settings is required.
Fluency in English is required. Fluency in both Spanish and English would be a plus. Equivalent relevant work experience may be substituted for degree requirement. TB test and PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Criminal Record Check will be required as a condition of employment. EEO/AA/M/F/Vets/Disabled.
