The MFM Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant functions in a collaborative practice with physician(s) in the outpatient and inpatient setting. Autonomously performs patient assessment, diagnosis, and intervention according to approved protocols. Develops and maintains own volume of patients under the supervision of a physician. Provides practice/clinic coverage for physician(s) during periods of absence. Prescribes a variety of modalities to meet wellness and illness needs, including prescriptive authority.
Education & Experience
Advanced Practice Registered Nurses * Master's Degree in Nursing as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse * Minimum 2 years of Pediatric Nursing experience or related specialized area strongly preferred OR Physician Assistants * Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies * Minimum 1 year of experience in related specialized area strongly preferred
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification
Advanced Practice Registered Nurses: Current Texas professional registered nurse license. Current Texas professional advance practice registered nurse license. Certified as a FNP. Current AHA Basic Life Support (CPR) required Current AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required (as of October 1, 2019) OR Physician Assistants: Current Texas professional physician assistant license. Certified as a PA. Current AHA Basic Life Support (CPR) required. Current AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required (as of October 1, 2019)
