The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA), located in Seattle, Washington, is part of a dynamic collaboration among three organizations known nationally and internationally for their patient care and research: Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, University of Washington, and Seattle Children's. Over the past 25 years, these institutions have worked together to support their mission of adult and pediatric oncology patient care services, research and education.
The BMT Patient Care Coordinator Assistant II is a member of a dynamic team focused on coordinating all aspects of patient care. The role supports the team in coordinating access to SCCA services by completing essential administrative and customer support activities.
Monitors and processes incoming referrals
Contacts patients to collect demographic information
Enters patient demographic and insurance information into databases
Requests medical records and information as directed
Enters appointments as directed
Performs other duties as required
High school graduate or equivalent
Ability to work independently, organize, and prioritize concurrent responsibilities and demands
Ability to communicate verbally in person, on the phone, and in writing in a clear and concise manner
Proficient in the use of word processing (MS Word), email, and data entry in a Windows-based environment
Ability to work in a high pressure, deadline oriented, and complex health care environment
Ability to review work to identify and eliminate errors and omissions
Demonstrated customer service skills preferred

Seattle Cancer Care Alliance is a cancer treatment center that unites doctors from Fred Hutchison Cancer Research Center, University of Washington Medical Center, and Seattle Children’s. The purpose of this organization is to provide state-of the-art patient and family centered care; support the conduct of cancer clinical research and education; enhance access to improved cancer interventions; and advance the standard of cancer care regionally and beyond. The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance is the only NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center in the Northwest, and according to the National Cancer Data Base, Seattle Cancer Care Alliance patients in general have better survival rates than patients treated at other cancer treatment centers.
