The Division of General Pediatrics is located in Doernbecher Childrens Hospitals (DCH) and is a 151-bed modern state-of-the art facility on the OHSU campus and serves as the tertiary and quaternary referral center for all of Oregon and SW Washington. Currently. Our dedicated physicians, registered nurses and clinical support staff specialize in the development, health and diseases of newborns, infants, children and adolescents. We are committed to providing the best personalized care including well child care, immunizations, coordination of care for chronic medical conditions and mental health issues.
The Division of General Pediatrics,is recruiting a full-time Instructor for a one year position. The focus of this position is the provision of excellent pediatric care to infants, children, and adolescents at Doernbecher Childrens Hospitals (DCH) General Pediatrics and Adolescent Health Clinic and the delivery room and newborn nursery at Adventist Health Center.
Key features of the position include:
Clinical responsibilities in the General Pediatrics and Adolescent Health Clinic:
supervision of pediatric residents, medical students, and other trainees in the clinic
direct patient care
coverage of daytime, evening, and Saturday clinics
continuation of continuity clinic if desired (for current 3 rd year residents)
night and weekend call
Clinical responsibilities in the Adventist Health Center labor and delivery room and newborn nursery:

The focus of this position is clinical. The average clinical load for a 1.0 FTE will be equivalent of 8 half-day clinic sessions per week and one weekend per month. As such, there will be little to no expectation of participation in other activities (e.g. departmental committees, scholarly projects etc.). However, the appointee is expected to participate in division meetings and quality improvement projects.
It is expected that the appointee will find another position after the year is over; however, if a long-term faculty position is available in OHSU/Adventist General Pediatrics, she/he can apply for it as part of a national search.
