These positions plan and provide therapeutic intervention and appropriate psychosocial developmental care with pediatric patients and their families and assists them in coping with the stress and anxiety of health care experiences and maximizes the growth and development of infants, children and adolescent patients.
2 positions available:
1) This Child Life Specialist position would support children and families in our Cancer Center and Blood Disorders outpatient clinic, full time, working 5 days one week, 4 days the next.
2) This Child Life Specialist position would support children and families who are hospitalized in Phoenix Children’s’ Hospital inpatient Hematology/Oncology unit, full time, Sunday through Weds.
-Bachelor's in Child Life, Therapeutic Recreation, or related field REQUIRED
-Completion of a minimum 480 hour professional Child Life Internship, under the direction of a Certified Child Life Specialist REQUIRED
-Current certification as a Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) by the Child Life Certifying Commission (CLCC) and / or Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) through the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) REQUIRED
-Minimum of 2 years experience REQUIRED
-Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association REQUIRED
