The Heart Institute Clinics consists of adult and pediatric providers from multiple cardiovascular medical and surgical sub-specialties. The Heart Institute physicians and allied health professionals provide a full range of consultative, evaluation and management services to adults with suspected or known heart and/or vascular disease, individuals who are at risk for developing heart and/or vascular disease and children with congenital anomalies. Summary of job responsibilities:The Licensed Vocational Nurse II, under direct supervision of the Registered Nurse, She/he, after appropriate educational preparation, is capable of an expanded scope of practice in the areas of nursing process and intravenous therapy. The Licensed Vocational Nurse II provides nursing care consistent with the Plan for Provision of Nursing Care, the Plan for the Provision of Care to Patients, CSMC Code of Conduct, the Performance Improvement Plan, and the Patient Education Plan. He/she maintains competency skills including the ability to provide care to special patient populations and patients with diverse cultural backgrounds. He/she can identify the ability of the patient to follow directions/ instructions. He/she can identify safety concerns and institutes additional measures to provide a safe environment and identify developmental milestones.
