The Laboratories of Cognitive Neuroscience (LCN) at Boston Children's Hospital are dedicated to improving the lives of children throughout the world. Our multidisciplinary team of researchers brings together experts from a wide range of fields, including neuroscience, psychology, pediatrics, education, and neurology. We are working to expand our knowledge of development and developmental disorders in order to contribute to the healthy growth and development of our children.
The RA will assist with the daily operations and implementation of research procedures for early adversity and clinical studies.
participant recruitment and scheduling for studies with infants and young children diagnosed with, or at risk for, developmental disorders; testing children following established research protocol and measures (e.g., eye tracking, electrophysiology, genetics, standardized behavioral assessments),
data processing and analysis,
behavioral coding, and developing training materials.
The RA will work closely with the Research Specialist to coordinate and administer research projects under the direction of the Principal Investigator, Dr. Charles Nelson.
Eligible candidates have the following qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in psychology, child development, cognitive science, neuroscience, or related field required and 1 year working experience. * Experience working with young children with developmental disorders * Experience working in a research setting * Availability for flexible scheduling including some evenings and weekends * Computer skills including a working knowledge of PC and Mac operating systems and basic statistics software (e.g. Excel, SPSS) * High level of motivation; ability to work independently and as part of a team; excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail
Preferred qualifications include: * Basic knowledge of experimental presentation and collection software (e.g., ePrime, Redcap, Matlab) * Experience with behavioral or neuroimaging measures such as eye tracking, EEG, ERP, or fNIRS * Two-year commitment preferred
