Research Technician Med-Pediatrics - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (19009214) The University of Pittsburgh's, Department of Pediatrics, is seeking a Research Technician in the Division of Pulmonary Medicine to provide research support in a lung immunology focused laboratory. The Research Technician position assists in the design, interpretation, and execution of a variety of experiments (including mammalian specimen work) in the laboratory. Under general guidance, they will conduct routine and non-routine manipulations required for non-standard tests involving various medical research. This includes assisting in the basic design, execution, and interpretation of a variety of laboratory experiments. Candidate should have a good knowledge of basic laboratory skills and must be able to work independently on tasks. An Associate's degree in biology, biochemistry, genetics, biomedical engineering, statistics, or related scientific field is required. Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred. Some experience in a laboratory, specifically with molecular biology is desired and preferred. Equivalent relevant work experience may be substituted for degree requirement. Advanced computer skills are a plus. Strong organizational skills, dependability, and good communication skills are required. This position is located at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh in Lawrenceville. TB test and PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Criminal Record Check will be required as a condition of employment. EEO/AA/M/F/Vets/Disabled.
