The University of Louisville School of Medicine (established 1837) invites nominations and applications for the position of Associate Professor/Professor and Chair of the Department of Radiology. Candidates should have a proven record of operational leadership, strong teaching, clinical, mentoring and research skills as well as demonstrated administrative experience and academic excellence. Candidates should be committed to patient care, faculty development, and research, education of medical students, residents and fellows. Candidates with experience as well as an interest in directing radiological services for a major clinical enterprise are particularly encouraged to apply. The Department of Radiology is highly respected for outstanding clinical service and training residents who successfully match for some of the most competitive fellowships in the United States. We are currently experiencing a rapid expansion of our Clinical services, providing coverage at University of Louisville Hospital, UofL Health - Jewish Hospital, and The Robley Rex VA Medical Center. The addition of Jewish Hospital and several other properties of the UL Health System offers great opportunities to build an even more robust system. The Department is approved for an Interventional Radiology Fellowship beginning in 2022, and is applying for ACGME approval for a Neuroradiology Fellowship. The Department also expects to have fellows in Body Imaging and Mammography soon.
The Department consists of 30 faculty and has a mission of patient care, teaching and research. It maintains a residency program of twenty residents with rotations through three Louisville hospitals, including University of Louisville Hospital, Norton Children's Hospital, and the Louisville VA Medical Center. The majority of time is spent at the University of Louisville Hospital which is a Level 1 Trauma Center and serves as the academic referral center for approximately 1 million people in Kentucky and Southern Indiana.
