The Division of Genetics and Metabolism in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina is seeking a full time Advanced Practice Practitioner (APP) to provide patient care and to participate in clinical research studies.
The APP will collaborate with multidisciplinary team members and act as a resource to all levels of faculty, staff, and trainees regarding children and adults with metabolic and genetic disorders. The APP will comply with medical records policies regarding the complete and accurate documentation of patient care. They are expected to initiate and maintain required records and legal documents. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, flexibility, as well as clinical care and research experience are essential.
Education and Experience:
Candidate must be able to evaluate children, adolescents and adults with genetic and metabolic disorders including obtaining a detailed medical and family history, do a thorough physical examination and formulate a management plan for diagnosis, management and treatment.
In addition to those described above, essential qualifications include the ability to seek input and oversight when appropriate. The position requires the ability to adjust daily priorities while maintaining patient safety, adherence to protocols and data quality. Candidates must have demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with patients, family members and the healthcare team.
