This is a full-time Research Assistant position in the Department of Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh. We will be making up to 4 hires for these positions. This position is responsible for recruiting parents of infants, toddlers, and preschoolers and their children for a large-scale prevention trial. The staff member will also administer research protocols that vary by child age with parent participants.
Recruitment activities will take place at Magee Women's Hospital, Women, Infants, and Children Nutritional Supplement clinics, Pediatric Primary Care and Federally Qualified Health Center offices, and Family Support Centers in the Pittsburgh Metropolitan area. Follow-up assessments will take place at the aforementioned sites and families' residences. The staff member will also supervise auxiliary research staff and be responsible for data reduction. Because the study includes families from diverse socioeconomic strata and cultural diversity, the position demands a high level of interpersonal skill, professionalism, and ease in working with parents of young children, including those parents who had a baby in the past 24 hours.
This position requires a high degree of flexibility and willingness to work "odd hours" to accommodate families' scheduling needs.
