The Department of Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh is inviting applications for a faculty position in Pediatric Surgery, Assistant Professor, non-tenure stream. The assigned faculty will play an integral role in the clinical care of pediatric surgical patients and have a strong involvement with medical, resident, and fellow teaching. Outstanding individuals are encouraged to apply.
Minimum requirements include a medical degree, completion of an accredited pediatric surgery residency training program, and pediatric surgery fellowship with eligibility for licensure in Pennsylvania. Applicants should be Board Eligible or Board Certified with significant interest and ability in clinical care and teaching. Interest in Surgical Critical Care is encouraged. Candidates should possess strong clinical, interpersonal, analytical, and writing skills, as well as a history of scholarly publications and presentations, and evidence of interest in and involvement in research.
The qualified physician will be actively involved in patient care; medical student, resident, and fellow teaching in the area of pediatric general and thoracic surgery. This position will provide patient care at Children's Hospital of UPMC in Pittsburgh, PA, as well as three suburban satellite locations.
