The Department of Pediatrics is seeking for an individual to join our team in a P/T position. Columbia University Medical Center's Department of Pediatrics is a world leader in providing care for children. Our mission areas include Healthcare, Education and Research. We also have several active Clinical trials available to our patients. This position will support the department by providing The Nurture Science Program with a variety of behavioral coding tasks.
The individual will assist with a variety of behavioral coding tasks, including but not limited to:
Tailoring the AMCIES coding manual assessing maternal-child behavior for NSP's set of videos of mothers and their children completing an Etch-a-Sketch task; then utilizing the refined manual to code videos
Assisting with qualitative analysis of data collected from a preschool group intervention of Family Nurture Intervention
Becoming reliable on the Welch Emotional Connection Screen (WECS) and coding a variety of mother-infant Welch Lap Test data with the WECS
Coding preschool aged children's compliance with mother's instructions during video clips of a clean-up paradigm collected from preschool FNI study
Training on physiological analysis methods such as marking ECG data with CardioEdit and CardioBatch programs and employing to analyze heart rate and respiration data from variety of NSP studies
Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus two years of related experience
Experience with collecting, cleaning and analyzing physiological data using Biopac, GMark and MatLab is highly preferred.
Statistical programs/database management is looked upon favorably.
Experience using and developing behavioral coding systems.
