The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and the Pritzker Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago are seeking a full-time non-tenure-eligible Clinician-Educator at the rank of Assistant Professor (or higher) to be the Outpatient Services Director. This position is intended for a child and adolescent psychiatrist who will join a multidisciplinary department focusing on child and adolescent psychiatry and behavioral health services in a nationally ranked, freestanding children’s hospital located on the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine campus.
The primary responsibilities of this position will be to ensure the quality and effective organization of the psychiatry and behavioral health outpatient clinical services program at Lurie Children’s Hospital. The position will oversee the development of the general clinical services, the development of specialty clinics and importantly, the full integration of the outpatient services with the collaborative care program with Lurie Children’s Department of Pediatrics. In addition to managing the outpatient multidisciplinary team, a successful candidate will also provide direct clinical psychiatric services to children, adolescents and their families and participate in teaching and supervision of trainees and engage in scholarly work. This role will require an enthusiastic candidate that can develop and continuously improve upon the model of care provided within the Department. Candidates can anticipate working with highly accomplished and engaged faculty members, trainees and staff that support one another in the mission driven work of improving children’s mental health.
Qualified candidates will have leadership and program development experience, have excelled in clinical care and teaching, and have a commitment to participating in an academic medical center environment. Board certification or eligibility in child and adolescent psychiatry is required. Fluency in Spanish would be a plus. Hiring is contingent upon eligibility to work in the United States and licensure in Illinois. Licensure in Illinois and Lurie Children’s medical staff membership are required before starting work.
Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Full-time position. Start date immediate after licensure in Illinois and credentialing. Applications will be evaluated as received. The start date is negotiable, and the position will remain open until filled.
