Nemours is seeking a full-time, 32 hours per week, OR Supply Tech for A.I. duPont Hospital for Children, located in Wilmington, DE.
This position is responsible for: Providing technical and supportive patient care functions of assigned specialty areas. Responsible for participation in departmental and hospital programs for Quality Improvement and Performance Improvement, identifying opportunities to improve services, making recommendations and implementing actions as appropriate and consistent with the goals of the Nemours Foundation.
Maintain adequate stock of all required equipment and supplies in designated areas at established par levels.
Retrieve and return surgical equipment and supplies to the appropriate locations for daily department activity as directed by the OR Nurse Manager, OR Assistant Nurse Manager, OR Service Coordinators, and surgical team.
Maintain clean and safe work areas for all healthcare providers in the operating room proper to include equipment rooms, utility rooms, cast carts, alcoves and hallways.
Record and sign daily on the appropriate activity logs related to warmer and refrigerators temperatures in keeping with regulatory requirements.
Transport specimens and lab requests to appropriate locations within and outside of the operating room proper.
Participate in continuous improvement through demonstration of reliable methods and standard work.
Participate in operating room audits of reliable methods and standard work as requested by the OR Nurse Manager. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures and internal controls established for the operating room.
Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality of information at all times.
Perform additional miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as assigned by OR Nurse Manager, OR Assistant Nurse Manager, and OR Service Coordinators.
6 months - 1 year related job experience
OR experience required
1 year experience in supply/ materials handling required
High school diploma or equivalent.
Medical terminology training preferred.
Previous hospital experience preferred
Knowledge of medical surgical supplies and equipment
