This position is for a Research Scientist - Lab Track in the division of Medical Genetics. The primary role in the laboratory will be to design, conduct, and analyze studies with a focus on determining differences in brain imaging between affected patients and normal controls. The incumbent will be an active collaborator with the PI in the development and implementation of this research and will facilitate and coordinate all aspects of this project. Specific duties include developing and testing proposed methodologies and experimental protocols and take the initiative to actively develop protocols and collaborations to disseminate new technology.
A Doctoral degree (or professional degree / specialized technical training) is required with at least 3 years of post-graduate research experience (or an equivalent combination) in the related field of study. Experience in computer science, the electronic transfer of research images, pediatric brain imaging research, working with large research databases, bioinformatics, and able to independently obtain grant funding.
