The Patient Services Representative II is a part-time (26 hours/week) position. Schedule will be based on second shift and every other weekend (1:30 to 10:00 PM 2 nights a week and every other weekend, 7 am to 5:30 PM.)
The Patient Services Representative II is responsible for organizing and operating the office systems related to appointment scheduling, patient intake including data verification, charge entry and cash collection, statistical tracking office communications, word processing and filing of patient records.
Receive patients in a professional and caring manner.
Gather and update information regarding demographics and insurance in a respectful and confidential fashion.
Schedule and confirm appointments for diagnostic testing.
Obtain authorization and pre-certification for consultations and diagnostic testing.
Document and follow up on: referrals, no-shows, and cancellations.
Answer telephone using proper phone etiquette and direct calls accordingly.
Maintain content and organization of medical records.
Register patients for Medical Imaging studies, collect payments from patients, post charges according to procedures, provide receipts and appropriately document all financial transactions.
This includes cash reconciliation and bank deposit preparation.
Advise families regarding obtaining Medicaid coverage and /or Nemours Financial Assistance for children.
Assist with arrangements for transportation and patient flow in Medical Imaging.
Monitor Waiting rooms and keep patients informed of delays.
High School Diploma required
Experience in healthcare setting with patient scheduling, intake and data verification strongly preferred
